Welcome to the LeeJah blog! Now you might be asking what “LeeJah” is. Well, “LeeJah” is our Chinglish (mix of both Chinese and English) way of saying “Lee family”. Here’s the breakdown for you:
李 – Chinese character for “Lee” (Interesting Wikipedia “fact”: Approximately 7.9 percent of the Chinese population have the surname “Lee”–now that’s a lot of people!)
Jah – If you pronounce “Jah” phonetically (yup, the “j” sound before “ah”) you have a pretty good idea of what the Chinese word for “family” sounds like (in the Mandarin dialect)
So there you have it–LeeJah!
While our current posts are reflective of the holiday season, we hope to continue to use this blog as a way to keep you updated on our lives–whether it be through short notes, pictures, or videos. We’d also love to hear your thoughts and comments… so please comment on our posts and, of course, sign our guestbook!
