Wow, it seems like just yesterday that I was writing one of these reflections for last year’s website–and now, here we are again. Time really flies right by. A few years ago I was a freshman in high school, unsure of what to expect, and now I’m a junior with SATs and college staring down at me. Life moves forward whether you want it to or not. On a brighter note, my year–with its ups and downs–thankfully had more ups than downs. One of the definite highlights of the year was my month-long trip to Taiwan with my friend, Jesse. While we were there we volunteered at a school for the blind. I think that was probably the highlight of my doubly exciting and mundane life as a homeschooler, though learning to drive–and just about giving my mom a heart attack every time I did (Not to say that I’m a bad driver…), awesome summer bike rides with friends, and recently playing airsoft were pretty great, as well.
I think this year God has been teaching me many different lessons–a lot of times things that were learned the hard way, unfortunately. Be it hard or gentle teaching, I’m still thankful that He has taught me these lessons, even if there are times when I am more stubborn than I would like to admit. Yet I’m always thankful for the many blessings that God has bestowed upon me, including my amazing friends and a great family. Thanks guys!
