I’ll let all of you in on a little secret, the reason our family didn’t do a nice new year/Christmas update last year was because they were helping me with my college applications. The biggest update for me this year was my decision to go to Wheaton college in Illinois. Choosing which college was the one I was being called to was a hard process. After applying, and getting my acceptance letters, after much prayer and visiting of the schools, I felt that God was opening to door to Wheaton, and closing the doors to other schools. I accepted Wheaton’s offer and then enrolled in a program called Wheaton Passage. On passage, I choose the sea kayaking track. Twelve of us were dropped off at the edge of Lake Superior by the Apostle islands with food and supplies to last us 11 days. During these 11 days, we kayaked from island to island where we would set up campsites at the end of each day. When we had completed our trip (If you’d like to hear more about my trip, find a way to contact me, I’d be more than happy to tell you more, but so much happened, I can’t fit it all here.), all the Passage members were driven to a huge camp that Wheaton owns called Honeyrock. There were about 300 freshman there. We hung out, worshiped, went shooting, canoeing, played volleyball, and basketball for 5 days. After that, we were taken to campus where orientation started. Then…not much interesting happened after school started. Go to class, go to chapel, eat, study, and then do it all over again. Just kidding. I made some wonderful friends, learned a lot of cool things, swing danced a bunch, and declared my major to be Business Economics, There, you are now officially caught up with everything that has been going on in my life. Have a wonderful new year!
